Lori runs the back end of the firm. Lori has a bachelor's of Business Administration from Midstate College with an Associate's degree in Accounting so she is perfectly positioned to keep the business side of law up and running. Lori grew up in Washington, raised her son in Morton, and now resides in East Peoria. She is most likely who you will be dealing with if you are an outside sales person or contractor dealing with the firm.
Thresa is the friendly face you will see at our front desk. And in case you are wondering, it is not Teresa, it is pronounced TH (as in three); res (as in the end of the word dress); a. Thresa has been with us for almost twenty-six years. She knows our attorneys, most opposing attorneys, many of the judges in town, our staff and, most importantly for us, our procedures. She also knows our clients!
Laurie is a paralegal and in that capacity will work on projects for all of the attorneys in the firm. Additionally, Laurie is the legal assistant and paralegal for Bruce Thiemann. Laurie is an avid supporter of Whitney's Walk for Life and on weekends she steps back in time to the Civil War Era as a member of the Central Illinois Civil War Dance Society.
Patrice is the legal assistant for Brian Mooty, Jim Hafele and Jim Springer. Patrice has over 17 years of experience working in civil litigation with vast experience in personal injury and workers' compensation litigation. Patrice is an expert at drafting pleadings and briefs and is used as a paralegal by all the attorneys at the firm as necessary.
Becci is one of our paralegals and in that capacity she will work on numerous projects for all of the attorneys at the firm. Additionally, Becci is the legal assistant for Gary Schmidt. Previously, Becci provided worked for Jane E. Ohaver and Trademark Title Company, Infotrack Systems, Inc. and Moehle, Swearinger & Umholz, Ltd. Becci's experience in title work makes her uniquely qualified to work with real estate and trust matters.
Kim is a paralegal and in that capacity will work on numerous research projects for all of the attorneys at the firm. Additionally, Kim is the legal assistant to Ann Pieper, Elizabeth Arcot, and Lucas Young. Kim has a background in business (both profit and non-for profit) as well as Special Education policy and representation. Outside of work, Kim stays busy by volunteering her time extensively at local community and religious organizations that she feels passionate about. Kim has two children and two boxers, both with an attitude.
Michelle is the Paralegal and Legal Assistant for Karen Stumpe and Bob Gates. Michelle joined our team at the conclusion of her education in paralegal studies at Illinois Central College. Prior to finishing her degree, Michelle worked in the mortgage, customer service, and food service industries.
We employ College and High School students who are interested in law as file clerks/runners to help us keep our files in order, get documents filed at the courthouse, and hand deliver documents to area law firms.
