KSSWF’s Bruce Thiemann Kept Busy in 2016 on Behalf of our Veterans

Attorney Bruce Thiemann had an eventful year raising awareness for our country’s veterans. Here are some of his activities in 2016:

Bookreading at the Peoria Public Library’s North Branch, April 25, 2016. Mr. Thiemann read portions of the book “The Things They Carried” by Tim O’Brien, which is about the Vietnam War. He then led a discussion about it and answered questions regarding his own experiences as a Helicopter Door Gunner with the U.S. Army in Vietnam.

Chillicothe Veterans’ Memorial Dedication Ceremony, July 4th, 2016. Mr. Thiemann gave a speech at the Veterans Plaza in Chillicothe, dedicating the memorial there and relating the stories of many young men from Chillicothe who lost their lives in service. There were close to 1,000 people in attendance. 

Peoria Veterans’ Memorial groundbreaking ceremony, Oct 1, 2016. Mr. Thiemann was a special guest and participated in the groundbreaking ceremony for the new memorial at the Peoria County Courthouse Plaza.

Kiwanis Club of South-West Peoria meeting, November 10, 2016. Mr. Thiemann spoke to the Kiwanis club for their Veterans Day Program, raising awareness and funds for the Peoria County Veterans’ Memorial.
